History of Riverstone
The Riverstone Taverne has been serving inventive, quality cuisine since 2007 under the ownership of husband and wife team Joyce Hicks and Bruce Iacovelli. A former electrical engineer, Bruce, along with Joyce, who is a software consultant, always had a passion for food and became restaurateurs showing off their creative side.
Originally located in Valley City in a historic, quaint building, exuding a comfortable, casual atmosphere, Riverstone Taverne serves American cuisine with a twist influenced by all of the great food capitals of the world.
Known for fine dining caliber food in a casual and unassuming atmospheree, there's something for everyone; from the most discriminating foodie to the person who loves a great burger or salad, it’s all about freshness. Freshly roasted chicken, turkey, and corned beef for sandwiches are served along with the freshest steaks and seafood. The culinary staff visits local farmer’s markets to get the best local seasonal fruits and vegetables, and Joyce even grows her own herbs.
The Next Chapter
In December 2014, Riverstone Taverne moved to its new home just two miles east to the Drug Mart Plaza on Center Road in Brunswick—doubling its space. The cozy and inviting décor is lodge-like with wood beam ceilings mixed with copper, candle chandeliers, a soaring stone fireplace skirting both the restaurant and bar, and artfully mixed wood species from hardwood floors to mahogany tables, butcher block bar top, beech wood booths and barn siding paneling.
While the rustic décor is stunning, the food commands center stage featuring delicious comfort food served by the same friendly staff for almost a decade.
The Taverne also offers offsite catering, and plans are underway to add an outdoor patio for added dining space and a banquet room in the back that will be able to host up to 70 guests.
